Peter S. Tippett, MD, PhD
Board Chairman
Peter is founder and CTO of CyberTrust, the leading provider ofInternet security assurance services.
He helped start MD-IT and has served as its board chairman
since 2002.
Peter founded Certus International (developer of systems
management software and the first anti-virus software) until its
merger with Symantec Corp. in 1992. At Symantec, his anti-virus
products became Norton Anti-Virus.
He directed the Security and Enterprise Products division of the Peter Norton Group
through its major growth from $30 to $350 million before joining ICSA (now Cybertrust)
as its CEO in 1995.
Peter was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 1998 and serves on the
President's Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC) for health care
technology issues.
He earned MD and PhD degrees from Case Western Reserve University and received a
BS in biology from Kalamazoo College.
