The Bane of My Existence

What we just heard.

What is HIMSS worth?

I saw some things two weeks ago at HIMSS that I can’t forget.

Empowerment Begins Today

Rest in Peace Geraldine Hoff Doyle - 1924 - 2010Empowerment begins today

Empowerment (n.) how individuals/communities engage in learning processes in which they create, appropriate and share knowledge, tools and techniques in order to change and improve the quality of their own lives and societies. (UNESCO)

As Simple As It Sounds

A living database that is created from your dictations and driven by cutting-edge, proprietary technology is the foundation of the MD-IT EMR. We have taken our rich history of innovation in medical documentation and applied it to construct the most unique EMR available today. Requiring no change to office workflow or physician dictation habits, the MD-IT EMR is the most straight-forward way to increase efficiency in an ambulatory medical practice.

Hours of Time

MD-IT has long held the belief that physicians’ time is important and worth protecting. Through the many years of schooling, training and preparing, the practice of medicine requires tools and structure to ensure that the vast majority of a physician’s time is spent on patient care, not on data entry. Our products stand as a testament to these beliefs.

Seated in 12B

The two hour flight from Denver to Chicago is the perfect amount of time to do some quick market research.  Not surprisingly, I was seated next to an OB/GYN professor and practitioner for the relatively short flight.  Unfortunately for her, not only was she stuck in the middle seat, but she was forcibly engaged in conversation about healthcare for the majority of the flight.

The Mine Doctor

Everyone at MD-IT is thrilled that the Chilean miners have been successfully rescued after 70 days of tortuous living beneath ground. Their resolve is nothing short of miraculous and we are excited to learn more of their stories of survival, fortitude and how they kept busy and upbeat in times of such despair.

Sickness Cannot Wait

Too little time and ink has been spent evaluating some of the ‘soft-costs’ of uprooting established workflows and behavior in an age where practices and hospitals are undertaking substantial investments in EHR technology.  As with any major overhaul, there are unintended consequences derived from change, and EHR implementation is no different.

There is Gold in the Hills

The ‘gold rush’ of Electronic Health Records is on. Or so says every major media outlet and President/CEO of a healthcare vendor. Now is the time that America will finally get electronic health records that will catapult this country into the future of healthcare delivery. Or is it?
