New Associate: Medical Transcription eXpress

MD-IT and Medical Transcription eXpress Team to Offer Narrative Note Solution

Boulder, CO, November 28, 2011 - MD-IT, the leading provider of medical documentation software and service to ambulatory clinics and physician groups, has brought on Medical Transcription eXpress as a Medical Transcription Service Organization (MTSO) associate, allowing them to offer the MD-IT Platform and EMR to their physician clients.

Medical Transcription eXpress’ physician client base will be moved to the MD-IT Platform, a scalable, online solution that combines the speed and accuracy of dictation with the convenience of an electronic health record solution.

“Our doctors don’t want to give up dictation and the rich narrative that comes from that,” said Mariel Trujillo, co-owner of Medical Transcription eXpress. “Many physicians have been forced into an EMR and they’re not happy, so this allows us to keep clients on a dictation-friendly workflow and gives them the benefits of an EMR at the same time.”

With MD-IT as a partner, Medical Transcription eXpress will offer the MD-IT EMR to clients who have yet to adopt an electronic health record system or who have adopted an EMR but want to return to verbalizing patient encounters.

“Medical Transcription eXpress has positioned themselves as a leader in documentation, with the ability to preserve their current business while expanding it to physicians who need an electronic solution that incorporates dictation,” said MD-IT Customer Care Executive Charlene Brown. “Their enthusiasm for the MD-IT product and their knowledge of the transcription market makes them well positioned to succeed and grow.”

Narrative notes provide practices with the clinical and administrative benefits to overcome EMR shortcomings – boilerplate notes, loss of efficiency, decrease in revenue – while providing the rich data captured by the unique thoughts and actions of a physician at the point of care.

“The MD-IT Platform is easy to use and you can really see the continuity of care for a patient,” added MTX co-owner Laura McNally. “Other systems we were looking at also had the benefit of being online, but you couldn’t even tell which patient you were entering information for. MD-IT has solved the problem of how you combine narrative notes with an EMR.”
